Christ Episcopal Church - We are committed to the values of God’s realm on earth that show special concern for the welfare of the poor, the weak, the victims of war and discrimination, the outcasts of our world.

Fellowship Groups and Events

Our primary goal is to build friendships and community within the parish family. Since we are a downtown congregation, it is especially important when we are together at church events that we use the opportunity to foster and enhance our sense of community and fellowship. Among our fellowship activities are the following:

Coffee Hour after the 10:30 Sunday service. This is a time for meeting and connecting with people. Coffee and refreshments are served along with a warm welocome.

• Monthly Downtown Foyer
called the Downtowners. On the third Wednesday of the month )September through May) there is a luncheon and program following the Wednesday noon service. 2007-2008 is our 6th season. The May Downtowners will present a musical program “Songs of Faith and Hope—the Negro Spiritual.” Percy Jones has taken excerpts from his lecture series based on songs of spiritual strength and survival. Join us on May 21 following the Wednesday noon service. Lunch will be served at approximately 12:45 p.m. Following the lunch, guests are invited to join Percy Jones in the Nave to hear this wonderful and interesting program.

Annual Parish Picnic in August.

• Christmas Eve Wassail Bowl Reception. An old tradition is to serve spiced punch during the holidays. Following our Christmas Eve worship we toast the Christ child and one another and enjoy all sorts of fine Christmas food treats.

Tickets for special events such as the Victoria Theater Summer Movies series and the Boar’s Head Festival at Christ Church Cathedral in Cincinnati during the Christmas Holidays.

Occasional pot luck lunches.

Receptions for special events.

New Year’s Eve Service and Dinner.

• Receptions after funerals at the request of the families.

Women’s Retreat held twice a year (February and October). Click here for information and registration form for the 2009 Christ Church Women's Fall Retreat (October 2 through October 4)

Women’s Movie night held bi-monthly in different homes.

Foyers are small groups of 8-10 people who agree to meet monthly to share a simple meal. This is a great way to get to know one another and to meet others. Foyers are formed every summer and the groups meet monthly throughout the coming year.

  • Organic Fair Trade Coffee is used for our coffee hours and other fellowship events. This project supports small farmers who produce coffee with regard for the environment and support for their communities.
